First performance on May 30, 1726; subsequent performance not datable (autograph addendum, including an obligato part for Violin I in movement 7; D-B Mus.ms. Bach St 36). Movement 11 is a chorale setting by C. Peter (Freiberg 1652) in the Vopelius hymnbook of 1682, page 70. Further performance after 1750 by W. F. Bach in Halle (text print in D-HAu, only the first part; annotations by W. F. Bach in the autograph score and revisions of the original parts)
