Gruppe 4: Violoncello (in c-Moll, Dublette), Bassono è Cembalo (in b-Moll, beziffert), Basso continuo (in a-Moll, beziffert)
Gruppe 1 (in a/e-Moll): Cornetto, Trombone I, Trombone II, Trombone III;
Die Streicher wurden für die Aufführung der Fassung in h-Moll einen Halbton tiefer eingestimmt, damit deren Stimmenmaterial nicht neu angefertigt werden musste.
Weil Bach den Aufführungsapparat vergrößern wollte, ließ er durch die Leipziger Kopisten Meißner und Kuhnau Dubletten für Violine I, II und Violoncello (2x) anfertigen.
