• Original sources are the last entries in the <i>Clavier-Büchlein</i> AMB 1725 (S. 123-126, see below). They consist of an erroneous, aborted transcription by Johann Christoph Friedrich Bach (p. 123) with propaedeutic notes and the heading: <i>Einige höchst nöthige Regeln vom General Basse. di J. S. B.</i> and the extension by Anna Magdalena Bach (p. 124) with the header: <i>Einige Reguln vom General Bass.</i> (Faksimile, 1988)
