First performance on December 11, 1726, to mark the beginning of Professorship by Dr. Gottlieb Kortte in Leipzig. The opening chorus is based on BWV 1046.2/3, and the Ritornello in movement 5 is based on the Trio II in BWV 1046.2/4. Movements 1, 3, 5, 7–9 are later reused as a parody template for BWV 207.2 - Early performances
