Date of composition around 1728–1731 (watermark, handwriting styles of the autograph title cover). Musical sources not preserved, but the music is partly reconstructable from later versions, see BWV 195.2 and 195.3. On January 3, 1736, a wedding music performance took place in Ohrdruf featuring texts from BWV 195.1 (movement 1 and 5) and BWV 34.1 (parody of movement 7), as indicated by the text print (Wollny BJ 1997)
