First performance on September 29, 1729 (or 1728?). The first movement is a parody of BWV 208.1/15. A presumably initially planned new composition of the first movement (BWV2 Anh. I 198), of which 14 measures are preserved, is found in the autograph score of BWV 201, D-B: P 175 (NBA Suppl., page 166, P. Wollny, 2011). Subsequent performance on October 3, 1756 by W. F. Bach in Halle (printed text in D-HAu and D-HAmk: For the Feast of Michaelmas)
