Comments:

2 handwriting layers visible in the manuscript: one older layer only covers Choral and Variations 1, 2, 4, 10 (likewise D-B Mus.ms. Bach P 802); the handwriting was temporarily taken for an autograph (by Rinck).

On the first page is written in German:
"N.B. This Choral was written by the author himself(.) Through the organist Kittel, one of the author's students, this Choral was handed over to me. I give this manuscript to Mr. Laurens as a token of friendship. Darmstadt, Sept. 30th, 1841. Rinck.
