Remarks In the ricercar a 3 (BWV 1079/1) the first part is arranged for flute or for violin (there are several departures from the text of the original publication in mm. 170, 174).
There is an arranged part for violoncello in D Gb Ms. Scholz 8.1.3b which belongs to this part. The second part (violin) of BWV 1079/3 and 1079/4h is missing.
