Remarks The version BWV 536a / Anh. II 45 probably does not go back to J. S. Bach. Prelude and fugue in A minor were handed down by Scholz two times in this version and the fugue alone two times more (D Gb Ms. Scholz 4.6.1, D Gb Ms. Scholz 4.6.3 and D Gb Ms. Scholz 4.6.4. Another copy of the fugue in G minor you may find in D Gb Ms. Scholz 4.6.1.
The collective manuscript probably belongs to Ms. Scholz 4.6.3; there are listed 3 fugues on the title page, but only one is handed down.
