Bach, Johann Sebastian (1685–1750)

"Concerto" (beginning of a cantata, e) BWV deest; BC A 64

Sacred cantata (2nd Sunday of Easter)

Scoring
preserved: oboe I, oboe II, violin I, violin II, viola, basso continuo
Comment
EZ 1725; Fragment of 7 bars; probably written close to BWV 103 (D B Mus. ms. Bach P 122 consists of the manuscpript of BWV 103 and the fragment). Presumably the fragment was never completed, instead maybe BWV 42 was composed for the sunday Quasimodogeniti.
