Bach, Johann Sebastian (1685–1750)

Prelude and fugue, d BWV 539

Music for organ

Scoring
Organ
Comment
This fugue is an about two bars extended arrangement of the fugue for violin solo BWV 1001/2 (in g minor); the authenticity is doubted because there are no copies from Bach's surroundings. The partial low quality of the arrangments does not indicate Bach as arranger; Lit.: D. Kilian, in: Mf 1961, p. 323ff.
