relation from other works:
is adapted from BWV 158/4 ChS
Comment
EZ unbekannt, vermutlich Leipzig; Perhaps this cantata is incomplete and an arrangement of a cantata for Purification Day (fragment of the score, D B Mus. ms. Bach P 1047); Lit.: NBA, KB I/10, p. 167-169.
Lyrics
author unknown; Johann Georg Albinus (1624–1679); Martin Luther (1483–1546)
Probably composed of two heterogeneous parts, one part (mvts. 2 and 3) serving for the Purification of Mary, the other (mvts. 1 and 4) for the remodelling into an Easter cantata; mvt. 2: stanza 1 from ‘Welt, ade, ich bin dein müde’ by Johann Georg Albinus (1649); mvt. 4: stanza 5 from ‘Christ lag in Todes Banden’ by Martin Luther (1524)
