Comment
EZ vor dem 15. August 1723; Movement 6 is borrowed from BWV 12/7 (without obligatory parts). About 1727 the cantata was performed again (s. mvt. 3, original parts). Probably on the occasion of inauguration of the new city council in 1748 the cantata was rearranged to the cantata of the same title BWV 69. The movements 1, 3 and 5 of both cantatas are almost the same.
Lyrics
Knauer (1720, edited); mvt. 1: Psalm 103:2; mvt. 6: stanza 6 from ‘Was Gott tut, das ist wohlgetan’ by Samuel Rodigast (1674)
